Immediate interventions

The key issues listed in the next level of the pathway should be discussed with the patient and family early after diagnosis. Early interventions and support can improve the quality of life for the patient and reduce caregiver burden. By providing information on key issues early and on an ongoing basis, the person with dementia, their family and / or carers are assisted to access relevant support services and implement strategies that respond to the variation and fluctuation of needs.
